If you Google affiliate internet marketing, one of the first results is from Wikipedia. It outlines it as a promoting practice in which a business rewards several affiliates for each visitor or buyer created by the affiliate’s own marketing efforts.
An affiliate is anyone that sells, promotes, or advertises a product that isn’t theirs and gets a commission for the sale.
This is a powerful yet easy idea and possibly one of the simplest ways to start making cash on the internet.
Instead of attempting to make your own product, a company lets you sell their product for a commission. This can be accomplished through paid advertisements or free advertising. So long as the associate promotes it in a moral way which helps the end user.
It’s easy to get started as an affiliate. Just follow these steps (the 5 R’s) and you will be well on the way to starting your online career as an affiliate.
1. RESEARCH – Search which market or niche you want to plug. There are all types of niches ranging from health and beauty to computers. Choose one which you are keen on and it'll make it less complicated to plug it.
2. REGISTER – You need to enroll with the affiliate marketing company to plug assorted products. Or if there's a product you are at present using, chances are they probably have an affiliate program that will permit you to promote that product.
3. RECEIVE YOUR LINK – After you sign up, you will receive your special affiliate link that is exclusive to you. This is VERY important as this is how you'll be paid. Every sale made through your link gets tracked by the company and that is how they know who to pay and how much.
4. RECEIVE YOUR CHECK – After you begin to make sales, checks start to get mailed out with your affiliate income. Some takes weeks. Others are instant. I prefer the instant ones that pay out 100% commissions, like this one.
5. REPEAT – After you set up your targeted site and get it running on auto-pilot, you can repeat the method and set up as much as you like. It's actually about multiple streams of income in this industry.
What To Have A Look For In An Affiliate Product
Before you choose a product or niche that you would like to market, you must keep in mind what the demand and worth of a product is. Shoot for one that is in big demand that also gives huge profits (100% commissions is ideally what you should be aiming for).
Also look at the longevity of the product. How long has it been on the market? How long do you actually think it may stick around for?
How To Push Your Affiliate Link
You may be wondering what you do with your affiliate link after you get it, and that sure is a fair question.
Some people post it all over Twitter and Facebook. And possibilities are these folks aren't making any real money. They would get 1 or 2 bites, but never enough for life changing results (which is what we are after).
Essentially you want to put your link in front of people that are looking for it.
How do you do that?
There are lots of different strategies and forms of advertising, but my favourite is article promotion and using blogs. You write keyphrase heavy articles related to your niche you've selected, post them on your blog or article directories and then promote those articles.
So you are not promoting the link itself first, but rather you're giving value to the reader because they are finding your article that they were searching for and after giving them value you recommend they click your associate link for better results or for more information.
This is an easier way to promote your link matched against just spamming it all over the place.
How You Are Paid As Affiliates
There are 1 or 2 alternative ways most corporations like to pay their affiliates. Some through checks twice a month (it's a drag waiting for these to come), some pay through PayPal (this is better), and some pay right into your checking account the next day (the Top choice)!
